Literacy at Queen’s Park
On October 1, 2009, the Ontario Literacy Coalition hosted a reception at Queen's Park. Members of Provincial Parliament, a variety of government ministers and literacy stakeholders from across Ontario gathered to acknowledge the work of literacy programs and the impact literacy and training has on economic prosperity.
John Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities and Minister of Research and Innovation; Robert Bailey, Critic, Training and Apprenticeship; Gary Porter, adult learner and business owner; and Lesley Brown, Executive Director of the Ontario Literacy Coalition spoke to those who gathered to celebrate the work of literacy programs across Ontario.
